Tsk, tsk, tsk...

So after my last post I can't believe that I didn't get a million emails with the subject line "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE COPYCATING THE CORRIGAN CHAIR!!!!!!!"

Was it a lack of faith?  Or a lack of interest in the Corrigan?  It's probably my most favorite thing Anthro has ever produced-- does nobody share the love?

This was one that even I had my doubts about.  No doubts about the actual upholstery part of things-- what I'm doing is relatively straightforward.  Mostly doubts in my technical support.  And my machines delivered exactly as I thought they would.  I had a moment where I really was afraid I was going to stroke out because it was SO frustrating.  The industrial-grade machine's feed dogs are broken.  The other machine-- I'm afraid I've done unspeakable things to the tension.  Ack.

So-- do you remember this chair?
I think that I erroneously stated that I paid $25 for it.  I did not.  I paid $15.

So after a little inspiration in the form of this bad boy:

it's looking like this:

Nothing like the Corrigan, really, but I have to say that I do think it's pretty cute.  And the buttons-- that's going to be the best part.  Because vintage-fabric-covered tufting-- that I can do.  Tomorrow.  I think my sewing machine has driven me to drink.

And PS-- thoughts on the color of the frame?  I went with this cream, but I'm wondering about other colors before I commit to tacking on the rest of the cushions.  Black?  Chocolate?  Pale green?  Opinions welcome!

I'm with the above - chocolate!

A dark chocolate would be yummy. I'm thinking Benjamin and Moore HC-7, branchport brown. It's got a touch of red in it which would be a good compliment to the green upholstery.
My husband and I live in a porch swing house too. Aren't they charming?

Gosh, I like the cream. Especially once you get the top cushion on.

I would nead more of a visual of the whole room, I think. However, I am remembering that I pictured a sort-of masculine/chic study with all the pieces you showed. A chocolate color would look good in a setting like that.
