So it appears that I am a stinky mom.
The evidence is everywhere on this blog.
It's here.
And here.
So, yeah. John Harper has a little problem with the bottle.
He never would take a paci. He only had a bottle once or twice between 3 months, when he learned how to nurse and 12 months, when he started drinking cow's milk. But when it was time for my little guy to get a big boy cup, I found that I had freaked out during the early days of the BPA scare and tossed them all out. But I still had those BPA-free bottles... and, yeah, well, the rest is history. We went cold turkey a few nights ago. And I have a WHOLE new sympathy for those mommies who break the vicious paci-cycle. It is really, really not very much fun at all.
Lesson learned, huh?

um...yeah, there was a reason I waited until Elizabeth turned 3 to toss the paci. In my defense, it did become a bedtime-only object at 12 months. Interestingly, when Finn came along (she was almost 6), one of the first things she commented on was his paci and how she hoped "he enjoys it as much as I did." She definitely remembers the love. :) Good luck breaking the bottle cycle!
I love your blog! Congrats on your mention from Triad Smarty Pants!
Just saw you are on Triad Smarty Pants! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good luck w/ JH!!!
I'm on Triad Smarty Pants? Huh?! Well, that is great news. Thanks for sharing!
Yikes. I thought I was going to have to fight Kieran over his bottle, but now he refuses to use sippy or straw cup, he wants an un-lidded cup! Oye. We're fighting over the paci, though, so hopefully the bottle is a bit easier than getting rid of the comfort suck. :)
I broke the bottle habbit when Olivia moved to whole milk and it was horribly un-fun then too. So sorry. If it makes you feel any better, my niece still gets a bottle before bed and she's JH's age. Glad you broke the habbit, but sorry it wasn't fun! Breaking from paci wasn't nearly as gruelsome as breaking from the bottle actually. Take care friend!
Hello from TSP! Your boys are precious! Love the captions! Made me chuckle. We never had a paci addiction or a bottle addiction, but I have seen friend's kids go through it- no fun! Good luck!
I'm really enjoying seeing so much of your little guys on here this week!
