So the sewing 'round these parts has been of the incrimental kind-- five minutes here, ten minutes there, much with eyelids propped open by caffine and toothpicks. It feels oh, so good, though, to be making for the sake of making. I'm used to deadlines and pressure and getitoverwithalready. I highly recommend deep breaths and letting go. It's really such a happier place to be, and I will keep reminding myself of this when I set my--ahem-- totally reachable deadlines. (Like this one. I've revised the timeline-- by Halloween, perhaps. Or by November. Or how about Before College. Yes, that feels better.)
So in just four short days, I've completed a two hour sewing project. Schoolhouse Tunic from Sew Liberated. It's sassy. I will take some pictures of it on when I find that belt-buckle I bought (I happen to think almost everything looks better belted, so I made a belt to go with) under the teetering "to do" pile in the studio. This week, I promise.
Or maybe next. Who's counting. I have some baby pants to sew...

Adorable!!! Is the sizing acurate or run big or small? Adult patterns are typically horrible!
i love that dress! perhaps i can borrow your pattern someday?
On sizing-- for me, I could have gone up a full size (maybe more) in the top, but I think I would also use at least one size, maybe two smaller than I did for the skirt portion and just eliminate the pleats. That kind of puffiness around the waist just really isn't that flattering (hence the belt.)
Okay, I am listening to you, I am breathing in and out, deeply! This looks very promising. I know exactly what you mean about making for the sake of making.
