Apparently I was ahead of the design-trend curve by about-- oh... a decade!
Way back in my penniless grad-school days, I fell in love with the look of cyanotypes. Lacking the funds to buy the special paper to create my own, I brainstormed and had the idea to spray paint over faux greenery from a craft store, mimicing the look for pennies. Opening all the windows to my apartment, I went to work on these, which still hang in our bedroom today.
Fast forward to a few days ago, when I found this tutorial via Cottage and Vine. It's got me itching to update this set in a blue hue to match our current bedding (and the look of a "real" cyanotype.) When I made my set way back when, I just used spray paint-- none of the other materials this tutorial calls for-- so I know it can be done that way, too.

this mess could be a fun one to do with naomi. think a 6 year old can handle a spray paint can?
I have a "gas mask" that I wear when I paint, Lacey-- if nothing else she could look cute doing it.
