So this:
+ 2 coats of primer + 3 cans of spray paint +4 dollar a yard fabric + 5 full summer days with a teeny bit of sewing thrown in =
this!
The first of my chair makeovers is complete, and it turned out better than I could have hoped. Stay tuned next week for a tutorial on how to make welting and reupholster seat cushions. You'll never look at an ugly yard-sale-chair the same way again.
Have a wonderful weekend-- I'll select the winners of the giveaway at 5 pm tomorrow, and will post the winners here.

Wow, that looks amazing, Melissa! You have such a wonderful eye for this.
WOW!!! It turned out amazing!!! That cushion looks like perfection!!
YES! I need that tutorial! I want to cover a cushion to go on top of my husband's large ORANGE metal toolbox that he will NOT remove from the study. I thought, "Well fine I will just turn it into a bench with a cushion!" :) And I think I really am going to do it.... a tutorial from you would be awesome!
The chairs look amazing. You are so talented at transforming furniture!
wow, this turned out gorgeous. Can't wait for the tutorial! I can make a simple slipcover like a bench, but would love to know more.
you'd already broadened my horizons to the power of white paint--not to find something 'needed' to practice on!
