The time has come, the walarus said, to talk of.... potty training. Or potty learning. Or whatever you want to call it. I personally call it "ew, yuck, I really don't love chaning your diapers so let's do a little something about that, why don't we"?
My littlest guy will be 19 months old tomorrow, and seems to be following (a bit more slowly) in his big brother's footsteps. We put Grady in cloth diapers when he was around a year old-- and much (much!) to my surprise, he toilet trained himself between 17 and 19 months of age. I just thought the potty would be a safe placethat he couldn't run away from while I drew the bath . But lo and behold that little stinker figured out what it was for. And so I have declared 18 months to be The Magic Age For Potty Learning and so that is what we are doing. (And another little Harper out there seems to be digging the potty, too..)
Remember my snap press from way back when? I had the brilliant idea this morning of adding snaps to all the prefold diapers we have-- it took 20 minutes, and has been most effective.
Let the toileting commence.

Those are great shots Melissa! Good luck to John Harper! :)
Oooooh...I like that snap idea. I was contemplating just putting Kieran's newborn prefolds into a cover then slapping it on him. We also have spent a lot of time lately in just a fitted with no cover. We're not having much success over here, though. :P
i'm coming to use that snap press. we are on the same exact page...drew is a little worried, but we made some progress yesterday. but, the big girl panties we 'switched' to have lead to a lot of unclaimed puddles.
What a great idea. Happy training time. We are on the tail end with our little one.
