I think I said something about baby pants...

..so what I actually meant was "I'm going to make myself a shirt."  You could call it crafting ADD.  I prefer to call it following my bliss.  And for some reason on a night that should have involved a little work-work, a little laundry and an early bedtime, apparently my bliss involved a little wardrobe tweaking.

I very, very rarely sew for myself.  Fit for a child and fit for an adult are very different things--you want to showcase fat baby thighs and squishy baby bottoms.  But adult...well, not so much.  Most commercial patterns are poorly graded, with odd fit, and who has the patience to try to make up a pattern for an adult? Not me.  After a little poking around in my fabrics and patterns, I found something that looks like fun.

Results T.B.D., but I'll be sure to take a picture of it if it looks cute.

What about you-- do you ever make things that you can wear?

I often make things that I can wear, but most of it is costume pieces. :P

I love making garments for myself. At least when I do that, I know it will be worn for years in a row, instead of for a couple of months top ;-)

Nothing for me except knits. Hats, scarves and socks are a bit different though. I can't wait to see it!

rarely. I find it easier to make smaller than clothes than large. I have made a maternity dress though when I was pregnant. I have also made a few tops but nothing spectacular.

I really wish I knew how to sew! So, I could make things for my lil' dude AND myself!

thanks for stopping by my blog. I am follwoing you now. I would love to see how the shirt turns out! I don't have time to sew these days for the big or small...but in college I was a fashion merchandising major. I made lots of things that I did actually wear. I even made a lined suit! That was a project!!
