Well, hello there!

I've been scarce around here lately, huh?  My work comes in ebbs and waves-- and I've been buried under a wave the last few weeks.  There's light at the end of the tunnel, though.  And some pretty little pictures for you!
Here, at long last, is the beginning of the launch of Picnic
(And look at my FAB red vintage suitcase I scored out thrifting.  It still had the tags from it's last flight-- the return home trip of a WWII soilder coming home to Raleigh.  It made me a little teary...)

I've been busy tweaking patterns, sampling, fiddling with trims and buttons and fit (and by the way, my three year old son can no longer be bribed with lollipops or television to be my fit model. This was a sad day at our house...)

When I design each collection, I generally start with a single fabric that I love-- this time around, it was this cheerful red polka dot with faint, rosy accents. It seemed so suited to peter pan collars, rick rack and a sweet little sash-- so I put in all three.  Plus some pintucks for good measure.

And I'm in luuuuurve with this gorgeous cotton voile-- it's the softest, silkiest fabric I've ever seen.  This little float set is so delicate and feminine-- almost makes me wish for a little girl...

More to come!  Plus, I must have completely lost my mind, because I got fed up with my house being in such a rut and I've been running around like a crazy person buying all kinds of goodies to spice it up.  I bribed Grady (hmmmm--- there seems to be a lot of bribing going on these days.  I never used to be a briber.  Is it his age or am I becoming one of those moms?)  to go to our local consignment warehouse.  In addition to thoroughly enjoying the mini doughnut I bought him from Krispy Kreme, he thoroughly enjoyed the kruller I bought myself while I was getting him a straw for his water.  And he's been very busy arranging my pin cushion into a "no touch store" when he's supposed to be napping (I've given up bribing him to do that!)  But his education seems to be progressing-- he actually spied a camel saddle in another antique shop before I did.  And was able to discuss the relative merits of the two we found that day with me.  Thataboy, son.

LOVE LOVE LOVE them! If I EVER have a little girl in my life...

Can I use your pics to do a post on your business? I think it's so neat!

Or, you could be a guest poster at Scattering Lupines! Whichever you prefer works for me :)

I know I have one pregnant reader and one reader who has an infant and toddler (both girls). I only have about 50 readers a day, but HEY, you never know! Plus, about 10 of my readers will be having children in the next 2-3 years.

By the way, I'm really glad you clarified that google commercial link. I was thinking, "What a STRANGE way to end a great commercial!" The REAL version is quite sweet!

i hadn't seen this! It was so great bumping into you--too bad children are so distracting, we could have done lunch! But, I am SO glad to have a chance to share these BEAUTIFUL clothes with my friends. Is there a picture I can put in my sidebar?
